My name is Myles Eddy Laneston Washington. I was named after Myles Davis and Langston Hughes. I grew up listening to everything. Guns n Roses, System of the Down, Prince, Hall and Oates, The Police. I always loved rap but I never thought about me doing it until I was 10 or 11 and my oldest brother came home with this cd. I started bopping to it, it was him and a couple of his friends. It came from that rivalry of being player 2-4 all the time, if you can do this, I can do this. Right after that moment, as soon as everybody left the room, I started writing right then.
In hip hop you should be able to be open and write about anything, or you are going to hear the same song over and over. I try to write about what’s on my mind at the time. I’m featured a lot so I have to go off of the content they are going for and bring tracks in and around. When it’s just me, I definitely try to bring a new me, still me, but a new perspective that I’ve found lately.

I used to freestyle every day, I was free styling last night, but really it’s been a minute. Your mind really carries you when you do it. You know when you’re at work, and you are doing something you might not want to be doing at the time, but your body already knows what it’s doing so you let your mind wonder, it’s kind of like that really. You learn that let go.
