I never consciously rebelled against the whole recording thing, I didn’t know anybody else recording the way I did, which was making shit on a laptop. I feel like it’s the opposite of what people went for here. Of course, everybody respects what has happened here, but there are other ways to do things. There’s something about this area musically, it doesn’t matter how you record it, people are going to feel it.

The native Americans felt connected to this river, it was part of them. Even if you’re not a spiritual person, there’s something mystical about it. Whatever they felt back then still holds true in a sense now, even if you don’t realize it.
