I cut my teeth on the state line bars below Loretto, but also around Iron City and Minor Hill, anywhere someone would let us play. I played all of them. It was good times, there’s parts of me that miss it. We weren’t even writing songs; we were just trying to play whatever we could feel would make the crowd light up. You figured out really quickly what people want and what they don’t and you start noticing little trends of why that’s the case, the similarities. I was learning to write songs without even knowing it.
